A keen amateur sportswoman, I played rugby for several years and then took up marathon running.

It was my experience of recovery from a prolapsed disc and RSI that inspired me to leave my stressful office job and retrain as a massage therapist. I have a BTEC Professional Diploma in Advanced Clinic & Sports Massage and have also completed extensive further advanced training in fascial techniques in the UK, USA and Europe including: myofascial release training with John Barnes; ScarWork; craniosacral therapy; visceral manipulation and fascial techniques for the pelvis and pelvic floor.

I treat using exclusively myofascial release techniques as I find this is the best approach for treating the symptoms associated with chronic pain.

Clients come to see me with a range of chronic pain conditions including chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS), fibromyalgia, headaches & migraines, myofascial pain syndrome, scars from accidents and injuries, neck & back pain, RSI, TMJ & jaw pain, endometriosis, digestive issues. I also give all of my clients self-help myofascial release exercises to continue the benefits of their treatment at home.

When I first consulted Amanda I was suffering from RSI that was preventing me from doing my job as a writer. My right wrist, arm, shoulder and back had seized up and I was unable to type. The pain had not been alleviated by several months of physio, wearing a wrist brace, applying ice packs and taking large quantities of prescribed Ibuprofen.
